Changing the Compatibility Settings for Brother Fax Machine
To send a fax via VoIP on a late model Brother fax machine, you will need to change the compatibility settings. To do so, follow either Option A or Option B, depending on your fax machine model.
Option A:
Press Menu, then select Fax.
Navigate to Miscellaneous, then Compatibility.
Select Basic for VoIP or Basic*.
Option B:
Press the MENU > 2 (Fax) > 0 (Miscellaneous) > 1 (Compatibility).
Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to select Basic (for VoIP).
