Replacing a Lost or Broken PHONE PLUS Handset
Did you lose a handset and receive a replacement? You’re in the right place!
Did you add an extension and receive an additional handset? You’ll want to go to Installing Your New PHONE PLUS Handset.
To make a replacement Yealink handset work with your current PHONE PLUS system, you will need to “de-register” the missing handset, then “register” your new handset with your Yealink phone interface.
- Gather all current Yealink handsets and look at the screens to determine which handset you are currently missing. Press the red hang up button once on each of your current handsets to identify which handsets you have remaining (ex: “Handset 1” or “Handset 2”). You will need to de-register the missing handset.
- On one of the existing Yealink handsets, press the middle “OK” button to open up the main menu.
- From the menu, select “Settings”, the blue button with the gear icon.
- Then select “Registration.”
- Select “De-Reg. Handset.”
- A prompt will come up asking you to enter a current PIN. Enter “0000” and click “Done.”
- Select the handset that was lost, and press “Ok” to de-register.
- Once the missing handset is de-registered, locate the Yealink phone interface (pictured), and hold the wifi button down for ten seconds. The top green light will begin blinking.
- Go to the main home screen of your handset and select the bottom left button that says “Reg”. This will register your new handset to the Yealink phone interface (if the phone asks for a PIN number, enter 0000).
- Make test calls in and out to ensure the new phone(s) have been registered properly.
Repeat this process if you have multiple handsets to replace on your PHONE PLUS system.
